How to pay · takes ~5 seconds
- Tap “Open in UPI app”. Your phone’s default UPI app opens automatically (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM, or whichever you use).
- Verify the payee’s name. Your UPI app shows the real name registered against this UPI ID. Make sure it matches the person you intended to pay.
- Enter your UPI PIN. That’s it — money moves bank-to-bank in seconds.

No pressure — take your time
Scammers create urgency. A legitimate request can wait 30 seconds while you double-check.
Confirm the amount
The amount is pre-filled, but your UPI app shows it on the confirm screen. Glance at it before tapping pay.
UPIPE doesn’t process the payment
The actual transaction happens between your bank and the payee’s bank, via NPCI. UPIPE only generated the link.
