PhonePe QR code generator
Enter your PhonePe UPI ID — usually ending in @ybl — and get a
QR code and payment link instantly. Free, no signup, and payable from every UPI app, not
just PhonePe.
NPCI requires extra confirmation in the payer’s app for payments above ₹2,000 to a new payee. This is a security rule, not an error.

How to find your PhonePe UPI ID
- Open PhonePe and tap your profile picture in the top-left corner.
-
Scroll to UPI IDs under your name. You will see one or more entries
like
9876543210@ybloryourname@ybl. - Copy the one linked to the bank account you want paid, and paste it above.
If you have several, any of them works — each maps to a specific linked bank account, so pick the account you actually want the money in.
What @ybl actually means
PhonePe is not a bank, so it cannot issue UPI handles itself. It partners with sponsor banks
that do. @ybl is Yes Bank Limited, PhonePe’s original and
most common handle. After the 2020 Yes Bank moratorium disrupted PhonePe payments, it added
more sponsors for resilience:
@ybl— Yes Bank@ibl— IDFC First Bank@axl— Axis Bank
The handle identifies the sponsor bank in the UPI routing layer, not where your money sits. Your money still lands in whichever bank account you linked. All three work identically in every UPI app. Full handle directory →
Things worth knowing
A QR is app-neutral
There is no such thing as a QR that only PhonePe can pay. Every UPI QR encodes the same
NPCI-specified URL. Someone on Google Pay can pay your @ybl QR without
installing anything.
Leave the name field blank
PhonePe shows the verified name on the bank account. Supplying a different name in the QR triggers a mismatch warning on the payer’s screen for no benefit.
PhonePe blocks bank-account QRs
QR codes built from an account number and IFSC are refused by PhonePe on security grounds. Why, and what to do instead →
Personal vs business QR
This tool makes a personal (P2P) QR. A PhonePe merchant QR shows your business name and skips first-time-payee prompts — get one from PhonePe for Business.
Frequently asked questions
Can I set a fixed amount on a PhonePe QR code?
Yes — enter it in the Amount field above and it is encoded into the QR, so PhonePe opens with that amount pre-filled. More on fixed-amount QR codes →
Does PhonePe charge me to receive money this way?
No. UPI person-to-person transfers carry no MDR and settle directly into your bank account. UPIPE charges nothing either.
Can I change the name shown on my PhonePe QR?
Not through a QR generator. The name the payer sees comes from your bank’s records, which is deliberate anti-fraud design. To display a business name you need a verified merchant account.
Someone sent me a PhonePe payment link asking me to pay to receive money
That is a scam. Receiving money on UPI never requires you to enter your UPI PIN or scan anything. Entering your PIN always sends money. How this scam works →
