UPI QR code with a fixed amount

Put the amount inside the QR code so the payer never types it. Their UPI app opens with the exact figure already filled in — useful for fixed-price items, event tickets, invoices and delivery collections.

Your QR will appear here

Type a UPI ID to start — it’s instant

Always verify the payee name shown in your UPI app before paying.

Leave the Amount field blank to make a reusable QR the payer fills in themselves.

How to generate a fixed-amount QR code

  1. Enter your UPI ID in the tool above.
  2. Type the amount into the Amount field — for example 499 or 1250.50. Up to two decimal places.
  3. Optionally add a note (Table 4, Invoice 118) so the payment is identifiable in your statement.
  4. Download the QR as a PNG, or copy the link.

Static vs dynamic QR codes

These two terms come up constantly and mean something much simpler than they sound. Both are the same NPCI format; the only difference is whether the am parameter is present in the encoded URL.

Static: upi://pay?pa=you@okhdfc&cu=INR
Dynamic: upi://pay?pa=you@okhdfc&cu=INR&am=499.00

A static QR is printed once and reused forever — the sticker at a tea stall, the code on a poster. The payer enters the amount.

A dynamic QR carries the amount and is generated per transaction. It removes the most common failure in counter payments: the customer typing 50 instead of 500, or paying the wrong shop entirely.

When a fixed amount helps

Counter and delivery

Show the QR on your phone with the bill total already in it. No dictating amounts, no mis-keying, no rounding arguments.

Invoices

Embed a QR with the exact invoice total. Pair it with a note carrying the invoice number so reconciliation is trivial.

Events and tickets

One QR per ticket tier. Attendees scan the right one and the amount cannot drift.

Where it does not help

Tips, donations and variable orders. Leave the amount blank so one code serves every payer and every amount.

Frequently asked questions

Can the payer edit the amount?

Most UPI apps present a pre-filled amount as read-only, but this varies by app and version and is not something the QR can enforce. Treat a fixed amount as removing typing errors, not as a hard lock. Always check what actually landed in your account.

Why does the payer get a confirmation prompt?

NPCI requires an extra confirmation for a first payment above ₹2,000 to a new payee. It is a security rule, not an error, and it disappears for repeat payers.

Is there a maximum amount?

UPI caps most person-to-person transactions at ₹1,00,000, and your bank or app may set a lower daily limit. Certain categories such as capital markets and insurance have higher caps. Current UPI limits →

How do I make a fixed-amount QR in PhonePe or Google Pay?

The consumer apps generally offer a static personal QR without an amount; per-amount codes are a merchant feature. The tool on this page produces the dynamic version for any UPI ID, including a PhonePe or Google Pay one.
